Question & Inquiry : Live recording - Canada - November 1995. SIT, SIT, SIT : This talk given by Srinivas Arka stands apart among his other talks and teachings. One evening he surprised his friends and students with this talk which is in itself like a poem, with the recurring, deceivingly simple theme - sit, sit, sit. Yet it is one of the most profound themes since many don't realize that the greatest barrier for knowing our true inner selves and entering higher levels of consciousness is noise and movement. This, temporarily and effectively, shuts off that spiritual awareness of our existence and purpose, when by just practising quietude, silencing our physical body and the habitual chattering mind, we allow a shift to occur in our consciousness. Thus an inner receptive space is created into which insights and truths previously unknown to us may appear. Srinivas Arka seems to tell us, hinting beyond its simplicity at the strong urgency of this gesture - a condition essential to open the door for higher inspiration.
